Interviews are never easy, no matter how many you have – but do try to enjoy them! An interview is the best opportunity for you to gain knowledge and insight into the company, the position applied for and to determine how your previous experience, skills and personal attributes can help the company’s expansion plans and profitability.

Preparation needs to come first with any task you wish to do, and most importantly any assignment that you wish excel in. If you are cooking a new dish, you need to make sure that you have the correct ingredients. You need to have read the recipe and ensure that the tried and tested instructions are followed closely. Making even the simplest of meals without basic preparation can be a recipe for disaster! -

An interview is not simply a quick fire round of questions; it is your chance to shine. Greet the people in the room with a firm handshake and a smile. Your body language must reflect the way you want to appear. Sit upright, maintaining eye contact and look interested. Speak clearly and confidently answering all questions fully whilst keeping to the point. Remember to try to relax; you will look and sound much more natural.

Remember in life it's not exactly what you say, it's the way you say it. Even be aware of your expressions when you're not actually speaking. Effective communication demonstrates your professionalism and enthusiasm both verbally and non-verbally.
